South Button Island National Park

South Button Island National Park is a stunning marine national park located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.

Established in 1987, it is part of the Rani Jhansi Marine National Park and covers a small area, yet it is one of the most ecologically significant protected regions in the archipelago. Known for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and rich marine biodiversity, the park is a paradise for snorkelers, scuba divers, and marine biologists. The waters surrounding South Button Island are home to an incredible variety of marine life, including colorful reef fish, sea turtles, giant clams, manta rays, and reef sharks.

The coral formations in this region are exceptionally well-preserved, displaying a diverse range of hard and soft corals that provide shelter to numerous marine organisms. The island itself is covered with coastal vegetation and serves as a habitat for seabirds like the white-bellied sea eagle, kingfishers, and terns. What makes South Button Island unique is its shallow waters, making it an ideal location for beginner snorkelers and divers who want to experience the vibrant underwater world without diving too deep.
